Northwest Passage's history marked by dangers, death European mariners had long sought the Arctic route that connected the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, and some perished trying. Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen successfully made the Northwest Passage in 1906. Since then, about 400 vessels followed. http://ift.tt/2u9l4ss
